The process

How Troveage works

Four steps from intake to certified ownership. Every piece is examined by two independent specialists, every payment sits with an independent escrow agent, and authenticity is guaranteed for the life of the piece.

Four steps, grounded in independent sign-off.

  1. Submit your item
Start at the seller intake with photographs of the piece, any paperwork you have, and a short provenance note. A specialist acknowledges your submission and assigns a reference id within a business day.
  2. Multi-step expert authentication
Two category specialists examine the piece independently. Neither prices nor lists what they have assessed, so no piece goes on the catalogue without a second expert sign-off.
  3. Funds held in escrow until verified
The buyer's payment sits with an independent escrow agent and is released only once the buyer confirms the piece matches its provenance record. Either side can dispute before release.
  4. Ownership and provenance certificate transfer
On release, the buyer receives the certificate of authentication and the full provenance record, and the lifetime authenticity guarantee attaches to the piece — not to the transaction.
